RYCO Transmission Filter RTK177 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FILTER KIT

Service your automatic gearbox properly with the RTK177 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION transmission filter kit, designed as a direct replacement for the original filter. Kit versions are supplied with the sealing components typically needed for the job, so the service can be completed in one go.

Clean fluid is essential for accurate hydraulic control inside an automatic transmission. Over time, friction material and metal particles build up in the fluid, and a worn filter can lead to harsh shifts, slipping or overheating.

Fitment and replacement

Confirm fitment by matching the part number above against your old filter, your vehicle's service book or a parts catalogue for your exact make, model, engine and year. If you are unsure, send us your registration or VIN and we will check it for you. Replace the filter whenever the transmission pan is removed or the fluid is changed. Clean the pan and magnets, fit a new gasket, tighten bolts to specification and check the fluid level using the manufacturer's procedure.

Use only the transmission fluid type specified by the vehicle manufacturer when refilling. Regular transmission servicing is especially worthwhile for vehicles used for towing or heavy loads. Regular maintenance with dependable replacement parts protects the value of your vehicle and helps it pass its next Warrant of Fitness or Certificate of Fitness inspection. Buying the correct part the first time saves on labour, avoids repeat jobs and gets the vehicle back to work sooner. Quality replacement parts like this help keep running costs predictable and reduce the chance of an unexpected roadside breakdown. Stocked in New Zealand and dispatched quickly, so your vehicle spends less time off the road. Pairing this part with a general inspection of the surrounding components is good practice, as related parts often wear at a similar rate. Every part is checked against its part number before dispatch, so what arrives matches what you ordered. Automatic transmission fluid also cools and lubricates internal parts, so keeping it clean is important for long gearbox life. Our team is happy to answer questions about specifications, compatibility or ordering in larger quantities for fleet and workshop use.
