Product Overview

This 1/2 inch synthetic soft shackle is a lightweight alternative to a steel bow shackle for off-road recovery and general rigging. Made from synthetic fibre rope, it can be looped through recovery points, snatch straps and winch eyes and then locked with its knot, without the weight or stored energy of a metal shackle. It is popular with 4x4 owners, and the supplier also lists marine, farming and industrial applications.

Installation and Usage

Pass the loop through the recovery point and strap eye, then pull the knot through the loop and tighten it fully before applying any load. Never exceed the working load limit, keep bystanders well clear during recoveries and use a recovery damper on the line. Inspect the shackle before each use and retire it if it is cut, abraded, burnt or heavily contaminated. If you are new to vehicle recovery, seek training from an experienced off-road club or instructor.
