The listing shows it for the 4.0-litre six-cylinder Cherokee from the late 1980s and early 1990s. As these vehicles age, the fuel pump is a common wear item, and a fresh assembly helps cure stalling, poor hot starting and power loss.

Vehicle compatibility

Listed fitment data lists:

Jeep Cherokee 4.0L (242 cid), 1987–1993

Jeep Cherokee 4.0L (242 cid), 1987–1990

Jeep Cherokee 4.0 4x4, 1986–1990

The part listing title also mentions a 1995 Cherokee 4.0L, but that year is not included in the fitment rows. The fuel tank typically needs to be lowered for pump access, so the vehicle should be properly supported. Disconnect the battery, relieve fuel pressure and work in a ventilated area away from sparks or flames. Use a new tank seal if the old one is perished, and check for leaks before use. On an older vehicle it is worth checking the condition of the fuel lines, wiring connector and tank interior while access is available, as rust or debris can shorten the life of a new pump.

Fitment checks before ordering

Please confirm fitment using your part number or VIN before ordering.
