JS Transmission Filter JT381K

The JT381K automatic transmission filter kit keeps transmission fluid free of wear particles and debris, helping protect valve bodies, solenoids and clutches. Kit versions are supplied with the sealing components typically needed for the job, so the service can be completed in one go.

Clean fluid is essential for accurate hydraulic control inside an automatic transmission. Over time, friction material and metal particles build up in the fluid, and a worn filter can lead to harsh shifts, slipping or overheating.

Fitment and replacement

Confirm fitment by matching the part number above against your old filter, your vehicle's service book or a parts catalogue for your exact make, model, engine and year. If you are unsure, send us your registration or VIN and we will check it for you. Replace the filter whenever the transmission pan is removed or the fluid is changed. Clean the pan and magnets, fit a new gasket, tighten bolts to specification and check the fluid level using the manufacturer's procedure.

Keeping a spare on the shelf is a sensible move for workshops, fleet operators and home mechanics who would rather not wait on parts. Use only the transmission fluid type specified by the vehicle manufacturer when refilling. Always follow the vehicle manufacturer's service schedule and fitting instructions, and have the work carried out by a qualified technician if you are not confident doing it yourself. Stocked in New Zealand and dispatched quickly, so your vehicle spends less time off the road. Workshops can order with confidence for customer vehicles, and private owners can tackle routine maintenance knowing the part is made to suit the job. Regular transmission servicing is especially worthwhile for vehicles used for towing or heavy loads. Quality replacement parts like this help keep running costs predictable and reduce the chance of an unexpected roadside breakdown. Automatic transmission fluid also cools and lubricates internal parts, so keeping it clean is important for long gearbox life. Regular maintenance with dependable replacement parts protects the value of your vehicle and helps it pass its next Warrant of Fitness or Certificate of Fitness inspection.
