The listing references OE numbers 5H0821021B and 5H0821022A for the guards and 5H0823031G for the bonnet, and the selectable option is the left-hand front guard. It is a suitable replacement where the existing guard has been creased, torn or pushed out of shape in a front-corner impact.

Vehicle compatibility

The listing names the VW Golf VIII from 2020. However, the attached fitment table (around 100 rows) appears to be generic Golf data from several markets, covering hatchback, Variant, Estate and e-Golf models from as early as 1997, and does not match the Golf VIII description. Please rely on the OE number rather than the fitment table, and check the number on your existing guard or confirm by VIN.

Key features

Steel front guard for the Golf VIII

Left-hand (LH) option

OE-reference numbers 5H0821021B / 5H0821022A

Bonnet reference 5H0823031G also listed

New panel

Specifications

Part type

Front guard / fender

OE-reference numbers

5H0821021B, 5H0821022A (bonnet: 5H0823031G)

Listed vehicle

Volkswagen Golf VIII, 2020 onwards

Option

Fender LH

Material

High-strength steel

Condition

New

Approx. packed dimensions

160 x 70 x 75 cm

Approx. packed weight

13.5 kg

Installation

On modern Golfs, guard replacement involves removing the front bumper, headlight, arch liner and any associated sensors or trims. Fit the new guard loosely, set the gaps against the bonnet, door and bumper, and then tighten. The panel needs to be prepared, painted and sealed to match the rest of the vehicle. We recommend a qualified panel beater for this work.

Fitment checks before ordering

LH means the left side when seated in the car, which is the passenger side on NZ vehicles.
