The work involves depressurising the system, disconnecting fuel lines and the electrical plug, and removing the locking ring. Because of the fire risk associated with petrol and fuel vapour, professional installation is strongly recommended. Fit a new tank seal, confirm the fuel gauge reads correctly, and check for leaks before driving.

Before condemning the pump, a technician can check the fuse, relay and wiring, since these simpler faults can mimic a failed pump. Replacing the fuel filter at the same time is also good practice.

Fitment checks before ordering

Fitment is based on the listed model references only and has not been verified by year or engine.
