Drive shafts transfer power from the differential to the wheel, and a worn joint or split boot typically leads to clicking on full lock, vibration under acceleration or grease thrown around the wheel arch. Replacing the complete shaft is often quicker than rebuilding individual joints on these heavy SUVs.

Vehicle compatibility

Listed fitment data contains 75 entries across three closely related platforms:

Volkswagen Touareg, 2002–2018, including 3.0 TDI, 3.2 V6, 3.6 V6 FSI, 4.2 V8 FSI and 5.0 R50 TDI

Audi Q7, 2006–2015, including 3.0 TDI, 3.6 FSI, 4.2 FSI, 4.2 TDI and 6.0 TDI quattro

Porsche Cayenne, 2002 onwards, including 3.2, 3.6, S, GTS, Turbo and diesel versions

The part listing also lists a number of other Audi and VW drive shaft part numbers that relate to different vehicles; these have not been verified for this item.
