The radiator support holds the radiator, condenser, headlamps and bonnet latch in position, so it is often damaged in frontal collisions. Replacing it restores correct mounting points for these components.

Vehicle compatibility

Listed fitment data (63 rows from regional catalogues) lists the VW Touran and Touran Van, Caddy III box body and MPV, Caddy Kombi, Caddy Life, Caddy Maxi and Caddy Maxi Life, with engines including 1.4, 1.6, 1.9 and 2.0 (including natural-gas versions). The part listing gives 2004 onwards; some catalogue entries show earlier or later dates that appear unreliable. The title also mentions L2GA821022, which does not match a radiator support and appears to be an error.

Key features

Front radiator support carrier for the Touran and Caddy platforms

Referenced to OE number 1T0805588N

Designed to replace a damaged original carrier

Provides mounting points for the cooling pack, headlamps and bonnet lock

Specifications

Part type

Radiator support / front panel

OE reference

1T0805588N

Option shown by listing

Fender LH (appears to be a listing error)

Condition

New

Approx. packed dimensions

160 x 70 x 75 cm

Approx. packed weight

13.5 kg

Installation

Replacing a radiator support involves removing the bumper, headlamps and cooling components, and may require recovering air-conditioning refrigerant. This should be carried out by a qualified repairer, with refrigerant handled by a certified technician. Ensure the panel is correctly positioned before tightening, and check headlamp aim afterwards. Inspect the radiator, condenser and their mounting rubbers for impact damage while everything is apart, and top up and bleed the cooling system once reassembled.

Fitment checks before ordering

Radiator supports can differ by engine, cooling package and air-conditioning fitment, and between pre-facelift and facelift models.
