The listing describes it as a rack-and-pinion steering system with tie rod ends and steering boot.

Vehicle compatibility

The listing data is inconsistent. The attribute list names classic Volkswagens: Golf I and Golf I Cabriolet, Jetta I, Scirocco, Caddy I and Transporter T3, from 1974 to 1993. However, the 21 fitment rows list modern city cars: VW Up! and Load Up (including e-Load Up), Skoda Citigo and Seat Mii from 2011 onwards. The 1S1 numbers relate to the Up! family, while the 251 numbers relate to the Transporter T3. The listing also mentions Golf Mk2, Mk3, Polo and Seat Ibiza. A single rack cannot fit all of these, so fitment is unverified.

Key features

Rack-and-pinion steering assembly with tie rod components, as described

Forged steel, cast iron and rubber construction listed

Choose the power source option when ordering: hydraulic, electrical or mechanical

Manual or hydraulic steering drive types listed

Specifications

Part type

Steering rack with tie rod kit

OE-reference numbers

1S1423057E, 251419061, 251419803, 1H1422061

Material

Forged steel / cast iron / rubber

Condition

New

Sold per

Piece

Approx. packed dimensions

120 x 20 x 10 cm

Approx. packed weight

5.0 kg

Installation

Steering components are safety-critical, so professional installation is strongly recommended.
