Description

Product Overview

This bar and plate intercooler kit is designed for the VW Golf Mk7 GTI and Golf R, along with the Audi A3 and S3 8V, powered by the EA888 1.8T or 2.0T engine. A larger front-mount intercooler helps reduce charge air temperatures, which becomes increasingly important on tuned engines running more boost. The black aluminium core is matched with 70 mm piping for a clean, purposeful look behind the bumper.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Bar and plate core design
  • Aluminium construction
  • 70 mm piping size
  • Black finish
  • Designed for EA888 1.8T and 2.0T platforms

Vehicle Compatibility

The supplier states this kit fits the Golf 7 Mk7 1.8T and 2.0T TSI EA888, and the listing also names the Golf R, GTI, A3 and S3 8V, plus the Audi Q2 40 TFSI. Year ranges given in the supplier data are inconsistent. This fitment is supplier-stated and has not been independently verified, so please confirm your model, engine and year before ordering.

Installation and Usage

Installing a front-mount intercooler typically requires removing the front bumper and the factory intercooler, then fitting the new core and connecting the charge pipes with secure, boost-tight couplers. Some trimming may be necessary depending on the model. We recommend professional installation by a VW and Audi performance specialist, followed by a boost leak test.

Package Contents

Intercooler kit as pictured. The supplier has not confirmed whether piping, silicone couplers, clamps, brackets or instructions are included; other contents not confirmed.

Important Fitment Notice

Front-end changes must not affect safety systems such as radar sensors, and modifications should meet WoF requirements. Please send us your VIN or chassis number and we will help confirm this intercooler kit suits your vehicle before you order.
